Installing WordPress – SSL Certificate
When installing WordPress, you may come across the option of selecting between HTTP or HTTPS.
What is HTTP? What is HTTPS?
To explain further, here’s a video explaining the difference between HTTP and HTTPS.
Now that we’ve all catch up with the difference between HTTP and HTTPS, let’s move on next to the WordPress installion part.
Which should you choose? If your web host provides SSL certificates to all assigned and parked domain names, then you can proceed to the next step. However, if your web host doesn’t provide it, perhaps it’s an indication to switch web hosting provider. 🙂

Sometimes, SSL certificate needs to be enabled. I encountered this when installing WordPress. The message read:

As you can see in the screenshot above, there’s a message that reads “A trusted SSL Certificate was not found. So what do you do?
First, as mentioned earlier, check if your web hosting service provides SSL certificate.
Second, go to your website settings and check under its security settings. There should be an option to turn on the SSL option.
I’m using Bluehost and one good thing is that this situation has already been addressed in they help page.
